There are three types of charging for electric or plug in hybrid vehicles. EV charging level 1, level 2 and DC charging.
Level 1 Charging Station: Using regular 120-volt home electrical outlet. A full recharge could take up 12-18 hours, many electric vehicle owners will likely find that they typically don’t deplete more of the battery than can be replenished overnight using basic 120-volt connection.
Level 2 Charging Station: supplies 240-volt power source or equivalent power of your oven or dryer uses. It requires professional installation to connect to an electrical panel or electrical panel upgrade in some cases. Depend on the EV charger and electric vehicle model, you can get various ranges all the way up to 19.2 kW. A full recharge could take up to 3-7 hours.
DC Charging Station: Or Level 3 DC Charging is very expensive, it uses high voltages and can add 90 mile range to an EV in just 30 minutes in some cases. Due to the high voltages that it used for charging, we would recommend for commercial installation only.
